Ubstudents.com is an online community for students(current, Alumni and friends) of the University of Buea. It is developed and
maintained by
AfroVisioN
with the main aim of providing an online study ground and social network for the students in and out of UB.
Technologies used
This web solution is built upon open source technologies,
which makes the whole solution easier to run in terms of cost and maintenance.
The site is powered by the following packages:
- CodeIgniter PHP Framework (100% open source MVC and OOP-based php framework for web applications) - PHP (100% open source web scripting language based on the C programming Language) - JQuery (100% open source javascript library for AJAX and visual HTML elements manipulations) - MySQL Server (100% open source Relational Database Mangement System with high security and speed) - Apache Webserver (100% open source web server optimised with the Zend Engine. Mambe is a Macromedia certified web developer and an experienced IT professional with great experience in web development and system administration.
He worked as a computer repairs and web development instructor at the Trustech Institure of Technology Buea for two years before his current job at AfroVisioN. He is the founder and President of AfroVisioN.
