Transcript in 24 hurs to 2 weeks: Given the transcript related historical difficuties that UB students have been putting up with, this changes might seem like coming out into the light from a dark age by the UB transcript policy officials. The reliality is that we leave in a computer world where things like “stored and well secured” academic records ought to be available in 5 to 10 mins atmost. In the USA for example, (with the same computers as UB) thats about how long it takes to get an officail copy of a transcript and in most cases for free. Paying a fee and waiting 24 work hours or 3 days minimum is just a reminder of how far behind we really are even when we can do better. by: Peter Teboh from: Washington DCHa ha ha:

The reality is that we are in a computer world where things as “stored and well secured” academic records ought to be available in 5 to 10 mins at most. In the USA for example, (with the same computers as UB) that’s about how long it takes to get an official copy of a transcript and in most cases for free. Paying a fee and waiting 24 working hours or 3 days minimum (not unless they mean 24 hours or a day, meaning day and night hours when the campus is closed) is just a reminder of how far behind we really are even when we can do better with the technology at hand.
by: Peter Teboh from: Washington, DCIs there any reason why a postgrad transcript should be expensive to procure than and undergrad transcript? Logically, you need more ink, more paper to print later and more time to comb all info needed givne that an undergrad can choose subjects across departments which is less likely if not impossible for a postgrad at UB. Why there may be many justifications to put a price on acquiring a transcript as well as levy more for a postgrad transcript, I have often wonder why the issue with transcript production is not placed at departments or at least the faculty. I think that if transcript production is placed at the department, it will be easier, quicker and reliable to issue them. I also know that issues relating to trustworthiness may have come up if at all the university has thought of this approach before. However, I may be wrong but from my own understanding of current technologies; it is possible for the central Admin to still manage this resource but give the department only a “read” access to a database of student results. Which means that only the CA has a read and write permission to the system. Departments will then be able to print results in minutes. The UB website indicates there it runs a CISCO program and I assume graduates from such a program should have been able to identify gaps in UB vis a vis embrassing novel and affordable technologies to keep its flag flying. Else this challenges the purpose for running a CISCO program. Just my thoughts by: Mosaic from: not specifiedThe transcripts are the students right and not a privilege and has to be free. corrupt corrupt UB by: Andin from: USthat’s how we cameroonians will die in misery…
why should i pay to have my results?
i think those fees should have been asked for those asking their transcripts more than two times.
That money will be use for what? for print machine? for ink? for what? as someone said on top, this is a matter of 5 to 10 minutes when everything is computerised, and i believe our results are computerised atUB, otherwise...good morning corrupttion and marks commercialisation!!! by: martin from: Chinawhy should people pay for their own results before they can get them . i think that is a big disgrace to the entire administration of the university of Buea.to say that if someone pays a higher amount he can get the transcript earlier this therefore means that the administration was voluntarily delaying the production of the transcripts. any how am still happy i can get my transcript when i want. by: kilian mbom from: bamendaOthers are progressing and we are retrogressing.
If we are paying to collect our own results then it is very easy for our results to be sold to those who don’t deserve them. This is simply because all they care is their money and nothing else. Shame to that institution.Ttey shoul change. It is Uncle Math
