GCE results go offline

AfroVisioN the group behind http://www.ubstudents.com http://www.kupexsans.com http://www.camerconnect.com http://www.gnstudents.com and http://www.shesaworld.net is working hard to improve the internet presence of Cameroon. This same group hosted the GCE results 2006 last year on their website http://www.passgce.com and this year we are sorry we did not do it because the GCE board does not like the idea due to some security implications, but we believe that if you comment below and you are in support of the idea, we can use this to convince them to accept the idea and we host the results once more next year. i think these results that appeared online where a big step towards improving IT presence in Cameroon.

If the board doesn’t like it, it’s very unfortunate for us all.

I think any person advanced in ideas and who wants his\her own lifestyle to be easy as that of the western world can never be against GCE results to go online.so pls GCE board dont be left behind or warstill dont let Baccalaureat Office to do it before Us and say later we are following their footsteps.Thank You

I was unable to find out the details of these results for days and days because they were not online. I do not see what security implications could possibly outweigh the need for people to be informed. If the board were to make information more immediately available to requesters, especially from schools and unversities abroad, perhaps there would be less room for the fear of fraud which is, I think the cause of the censorship.

Having the results online is definitely a good idea. If the board stopped it for security reasons, they should find a way to eliminate the insecurity.Having the results online makes access easier, along other adavantages.

let us not just look at it on the advantage it has on us the student. what about the news papers, we need to give them this chance to make some money, because i think every body can bear with me, that this is the only time news papers really make some money.

Kinyuy what you said is realy amusing how can you prefer the press making money from the results than publishing it online. I guess you dont want Cameroon to developer abi. come on we have to change and catch up with the world we wont stand in that same old spot of reading results from print media while there is a faster means and more accessible

You have to put the results online. IT is the only way towards globalization and we have to upgrade our systems in Cameroon.

IT WAS GOOD AS THE RESULT WERE POSTED IN THE INTERNET AS IT HELP SOME OF US TO SUFFER TOO MUCH BEFORE GETTING IT.I WISH TO SAY BRAVO TO THE G.C.E BOARD. AS ALL THE LIERS WILL BE PUT TO SHAME

Are we not in the age of technology?why is the board against the idea that results should be published online. This is similar to refusing passports to cameroonians on the pretext that it will be used for a wrong purpose.God save my country!
