Molyko Becomes "Dull" With the end of exams in UB, the Molyko neoghbourhood takes a different look. Hostels are fast being deserted as students evacuate to other neighbourhoods and towns. Even with rains, some students manage to transport their belongings to friends rooms, so as to reduce cost, because according to one student Pauline Ayambe she will still be expected to pay for the room, should her things remain there during this time of vacation. In a 36 room cite, the Disciples City, only 12 rooms have occupants at the moment, and more students still intern to leave.
This has seen many trucks lined up at the entrance of each street in Molyko at almost every hour of the day. The trucks and their owners seem to be of great help to these moving population.
A visit to the Mile 17 bus stop will speak for itself, as the park is crowded with students and household property at every time of the day.
Meanwhile, this is also the time for some landlords, caretakers and tenants to settle scores as they check consumption and bill payment. |
