Title: Tax and Payroll Team Lead

FUNCTIONS
To provide payroll services and taxation expertise to PCC.
In Particular the position requires an individual who:
1) Excels in team work;
2) Has a strong Tax Accounting background;
3) Has strong analytical skills;
4) Is committed and respects dead lines and prepared to work long hours when required;
5) Is a leader and safety committed.
Principal Accountabilities:
Accountability for payroll operations and processes and calculation, provision of expertise and advice on taxation issues including
·1 Supervise preparation of payroll, holiday pay, deductions, etc.
·2 Manage bi-annual tax audits, follow and close of tax exceptions
·3 Supervise Revenue Accounting and preparation of Royalty calculations
·4 Supervise preparation of corporate tax computations and deferred tax accounting
·5 Supervise the Annual Inventory Cost calculation
·6 Liaise with STASCO to obtain information for revenue accounting
·7 Review the status of all indirect taxes
·8 Assist coordination of Tax Returns
·9 Review Account analysis for the section
Monthly
1) Coordinate Revenue and Tax Accounting;
2) Coordinate withholding tax accounting and payments;
3) Coordinate payroll accounting and payments of all withholding liabilities;
4) Coordinate all reports for the section for monthly closing activities;
5) Liaise with other sections to obtain information for all monthly closing activities;
6) Account Analysis review.
Quarterly
1) Coordinate Provisional Royalty computations and settlements;
2) Coordinate the payment of corporate taxes;
3) Coordinate Deferred tax accounting;
4) Coordinate the preparation of all reports for the section.
Yearly
1) Coordinate preparation and reconciliation of all tax obligations;
2) Coordinate preparation of Provisional Royalty Rates;
3) Coordinate the preparation and settlement of Variable Royalty for the previous year;
4) Coordinate the preparation of the tax return (DSF);
5) Manage bi-annual tax audits.
External interfaces and internal governance:
1) Appropriate knowledge of conventions and contracts with the government and JV partners is important.
2) Interactions with government officials and JV peers must be tactful.
3) Ensure internal controls are working and liaise with other team members and staff of other departments.
4) Work very closely with supervisor and sit in his absence.
Key Challenges:
1) Accurate computation of and payment payroll liabilities;
2) Accurate computation and payment of corporate and withholding taxes;
3) Accurate computation and settlement of Royalty Obligations;
4) Good planning, communication and interface with peers;
5) Accurate internal controls;
6) Teamwork and accountability;
7) The highly specialised nature and special status of PCC taxation/legal framework and the need to learn very quickly;
8) The seamless integration with JV accounting;
9) Biannual tax audits.
Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
1) Highly experienced candidate or potential for development and Growth;
2) Graduate Tax/Finance professional with 5-7 years experience in the tax section of a large company in the local market;
3) Excellent accounting background especially in Tax, Revenue and Payroll;
4) Good team player and communicator;
5) Good knowledge in contract interpretation;
6) A bilingual (English and French) background will be of advantage.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Bachelor or higher (Licence et plus), in Economics or Tax/Finance;
Highly experienced candidate;
Professional with 5 –7 years experience in the tax section of a large company in the local market;
Good technical taxation skills;
