GRADUATION TID BITS.

The University of Buea will be having its next convocation ceremony on Saturday December 13th 2008. The ceremony which will be presided over by the Pro – Chancellor of the University of Buea Prof. Peter Agbor Tabi.

A tentative graduation list has been publish by the various faculties and their departments students whose names did not feature on the list can be found moving around the campus of the University of Buea compiling one or two documents to make sure their names come out. Talking to one of them he said he has a problem simple because he did not matriculate during his stay at the University when asked what he intend to do so that his name can be amongst those to graduate he told ubstudents.com that its just a matter of visiting the Central Administration and back then the problem is solved.

Meanwhile the University of Buea Association of Photographers have been carrying out massive sensitization campaigns on the up – coming events. Those who wish to take part in taking snap shots for the Students are hereby call upon to fulfill all the registration formalities so as to prevent unforeseen circumstances; such as their digital cameras being seized and other things.

The tailors, hair dressers, fashion houses are getting their store well stock in preparation for this annual event where some of them make high turnovers and profits. Bearing in mind the economic situation of the Country the students are called upon not be extravagant in their dealings since parents have sent much money educating them through out University.

The graduating students will this year have their certificates printed as the V.C can be quoted as saying “the University of Buea has embarked on printing certificates and diplomas for their graduating students 2 months after graduation so that they can proceed with other educational careers.”

Well the million dollar question remains what about such students who don’t have the opportunities of falling bush (http://www.bushfalling.com) for further studies or find lucrative jobs to support their daily leaving. Cameroon’s unemployment rates stands at 30% putting the country at the 173 spot in the world more than 2.500 students will be graduating this year where are these students going to work. The government of Cameroon who’s investment budget stands at a minus as of last gives no hope for job creation and other opportunities for graduates are they hopes for better days?
